A Contrast Photographer

Max Hernandez

PHOTOGRAPHY

WHO AM I AND WHAT DO I OFFER?

I am an experienced Honduran Photographer, currently living in the center of Jutland, Denmark.

I started freelancing in the 80s in Madrid, Spain. Years later I returned to my country of birth Honduras, where I had a thriving photographic studio for many years.

My long career has given me a very steady hand and calm presence – something often noticed and enjoyed by my clients, as I take the time needed in every production to listen to what my client – you –  aspire from the session.

Freelancing in Spain and Honduras, I covered all possible scenarios:

–        Weddings

–        Commercial

–        Press and Editorial

–        Documentary

–        Portraits

–        Artistic photos

My experience and portfolio is very varied and I am always available for a talk about your project or event.

“After spending six hours in the studio of Max Hernández I have no doubt that into every photo he takes he puts a part of himself. His passion for his art is clear. Sometimes laughing, sometimes serious, sometimes exasperated and sometimes swearing. Sometimes staring intently, proudly, confusedly, but always knowingly at his subject, constructing a seemingly random yet entirely serviceable sculpture of lights, tripods, electrical wires, white sheets of styrofoam, clothespins, cardboard, tinfoil and seven different kinds of tape, rearranging, and refocusing until, finally, he decides that perfection has been achieved .''

“To get to know him in a more intimate way, it is useful to recall an interview he gave in 1994, in which he made an interesting simile that objectifies the love of his country through a photographic conception. Max said that Honduras is a country comparable to a roll of film that has not yet been developed, submerged in the tank of underdevelopment, from where it would go from a negative to beautiful positive images "

Why Denmark

“My wife is Danish and I have had the great pleasure of being able to visit Denmark many times over the years, with her and our three children.
It is undoubtedly any photographer’s paradise with the incredibly soft light and deep color textures in the nature that can be enjoyed in each season of the year.
So when we  made the decision of moving to Denmark and be close to our children, as they pursue their studies here, it seemed more like an irresistible invitation and a perfect way to enter a more relaxed stage of my photographic career.
